Command Line Syntax

WebChat supports a subset of the command-line syntax used in CheetaChat and Yahoo! Chat, as well as supporting commands of its own. Typing any of the following words at the start of a line of spoken text will perform the requested action.

Command Line Options

/think <thought> Expresses  a thought, in the form
". o O (<thought>)".
eg /think WebChat is best would display as
. o O (WebChat is best)
/goto <user> Takes you to the same room as the specified user, providing the room is not a private room.
eg /goto joe would take you to the same room as 'joe'.
/invite <user> Invites the specified user to the room which you are in.
/away <message> Tells the room that you are away - you may leave the message blank if you wish. If you do not, your message will appear as follows:
<user> is away (<message>)
/back Tells the room that you are back.
/tell <user> <message> Sends a private message to the specified user. If <message> is blank the private message window will appear and you will need to type your message.

/<emotion> <user> Expresses one of the predefines emotions, optionally directed at a user.
/whisper <user> Sends a message to the specified user - only they can see it, but it appears in the main chat display.
