What Does WebChat Offer?
WebChat is a small, lightweight chat server which can cope with higher loadings than would be expected of such a small implementation. The final version will be flexible and expandable, allowing additional features to be added later.
The system was originally designed as a small chat server for light use, however due to user demands more functionality was added. The design of the server means that performance is maintained in every other room on the server, even if one room becomes full and overloaded.
At a glance
- Java and Windows clients
- Multi-room server
- Database-linked or open server
- Windows 95/98/NT/2000 compatible
- High loadings in one room do not affect other rooms
When will it be available?
Release dates are not currently available - the pre-release v0.5 version is available for testing.
