When I open a project none of my pages appear; I can't add any new ones either. What happened?
This can sometimes happen if Iosphere loses it's configuration. This is certain to happen if you restore the system registry or reinstall windows without reinstalling Iosphere. Your files are still there, Iosphere just doesn't know how to open them.
The easiest fix for this is to uninstall then reinstall Iosphere, which will reset the configuration.
If you don't wish to reinstall, carry out the following steps:
- Start Iosphere, but don't open any projects
- Go to Edit|Preferences
- Look on the "Virtual Directory" tab
- Click "Add"
- Select "ios2stdd.dll" (it may display as simply as "ios2stdd") and click OK
- Click "Add" again
- Select "ios2xpak1.dll" and click OK.
The list box in the middle should say:
Iosphere 2 Standard Documents
Iosphere 2 Utilities
Then, to add the extra tools:
- Switch to the "Plugins" tab
- Click "Add"
- Select "lnkchk.dll", which will load the link checker and click "OK".
- Click "Add"
- Select "i2psesub.dll", which will load the search engine submission plugin.
Restart Iosphere and everything should be working again.
Iosphere keeps creating ".i2~" files - what are they?
Whenever you save a project, Iosphere makes a backup file with the extension ".i2@~". This is used to restore your project if the original file is damaged.
