Future Developments

Iosphere is not a static application - it is constantly being developed and upgraded. This document should give you an insight into where the project is going.

The first challenge was to strip out some of the old code, which had been around since 1998. Most of this has been replaced with newer, faster code - although some basic code remains.

The following developments are planned (not necessarily in this order) - strikethrough indicates that the item has been implemented and will be available in the next release.

Iosphere is nearing the end of beta development. It is unlikely that many new features will appear. When the beta programme has finished, this page will contain information about the next release.

Iosphere Add-ons: Part of Iosphere's original aims was to be extendable after release. This aim has been achieved from the very start, so a variety of plug-ins can be produced. The following are likely (please note that these may be dropped or delayed):

Iosphere 2 Web Server - A web server which is integrated into the main application, in order to help with live site tests.

HTML Help Contents - A small plug-in to produce a contents file for Microsoft's HTML Help. Further HTML Help support may be added later.

For additions to the next beta release, see the version history.
