I think .Edit is an excellent little program for quickly editing the files for your website, whether offline or online. Recently I have made some small changes to an old website I have which needed exactly the same changes made to each page. I just fired up .Edit and used the find and replace in files to change the code in seconds instead of hours, as it was last time I made a similar change.

I also regularly use the online editing option to make small changes spotted when checking out a site (missed spelling mistakes etc.) and it saves a lot of time being able to edit on the server instead of opening my main editing package (Iosphere), editing then uploading. Just connect to the server and file you want, make changes and save. Done!

I used this function to great effect recently when a customer wanted some changes made to the names of some image files on his site, as he was sending me the changes by ICQ I was implementing the changes on the server with .Edit and he was amazed at the speed his corrections were going as each time he refreshed the page the names had changed. We went through the full site in no time and he was very satisfied at the end. So not only does .Edit satisfy the developer, it satisfies the customer too :-)
