Introduction
.Edit is a multi-purpose editor, specialising in Internet-related scripting and markup languages. Its flexible highlighting, code-insertion and tool support provide you with everything you need.
Although .Edit's specialisation is in scripting and markup languages, that isn't all it can do. In the process of creating full Internet applications various other languages are required - for example Java for applets and servlets, C and/or C++ for CGI applications. .Edit can highlight these languages too, with user-configurable tools allowing you to compile without ever seeing the command line. In fact, the Tools Wizard can automatically configure common tools (such as the Java compiler) for you.
A combination of document tabs and a standard MDI interface gives you the best of both worlds - quickly switch between documents, or view them side by side.
In addition to all of this, you may also edit files directly on FTP servers, or edit them locally and publish them when you are done.
