About .Edit
Although .Edit's specialisation is in scripting and markup languages, that isn't all it can do. In the process of creating full Internet applications various other languages are required - for example Java for applets and servlets, C and/or C++ for CGI applications. .Edit can highlight these languages too, with user-configurable tools allowing you to compile without ever seeing the command line. In fact, the Tools Wizard can automatically configure common tools (such as the Java compiler) for you.
A combination of document tabs and a standard MDI interface gives you the best of both worlds - quickly switch between documents, or view them side by side.
The combination of user-configurable options and wizards provide ease of use and great flexibility, making .Edit the ideal choice as either a replacement for an existing text editor or as an IDE. The standard .Edit installation even includes an optional Java IDE! (Java IDE Screenshot).
