Ashley joined Bishopshalt from a local comprehensive with an extremely impressive set of GCSE results. He is a truly outstanding student - a word used by all of his teachers. He is highly intelligent and very highly motivated, with excellent powers of concentration. His Chemistry teacher notes that he is very quick to recognise the essential information he is learning and processes it systematically and thoughtfully. His Mathematics teacher describes him as "Intelligent, analytical and perceptive". His teachers commend his willingness to support other students, he is sociable and modest in all lessons.
Ashley has made an excellent contribution to the wider life of the school. He has shown impressive leadership skills as Deputy Head Boy and prefect team leader, a role he fulfils with calm efficiency, charm and the utmost reliability. His work on the Summer Literacy Scheme showed empathy with younger students and dedication to task. Ashley has excellent ICT skills and a deep and very genuine interest in computers and associated technologies. He put these skills to good use when he was the chief presenter, using multi media techniques, at a Sixth Form Industry Conference. He has also found the time to do less glamorous back-stage tasks in several school productions. He has much to offer and will flourish in the most challenging environment.
